Meet Joseph Viso

Meet Joseph Viso

Joseph was born in North Carolina while his father served in the United States Army at Fort Bragg supporting the 82 Airborne division. After his father was discharged, they returned to
the family home in Bergen County. After graduating from Becton regional high school, Joe married his high school sweetheart, they have 4 beautiful children together and have been married for 36 years.

All of their children either went to New Jersey public schools or are still attending schools or universities in the state. Joseph Viso is a former firefighter from Carlstadt, NJ, who graduated from the Bergen County Police and Fire Academy and served as a volunteer firefighter for almost 5 years after. His service was inspired by a tragedy that struck his family in the form of a deadly fire.

Joseph also served as a Carlstadt Recreation Coach for nearly fifteen years where he coached Little league baseball and Recreational football in Carlstadt and East Rutherford. He said, “Coaching a group of young kids is not easy but a ton of fun, especially when you help a kid that is struggling gain confidence and blossom into an amazing athlete, that was my favorite part.”

In the private sector, Joe completed two apprenticeships, one in electrical technology, and the other in the elevator industry. While in the Local 3 EE elevator division, he majored in electronics and electric motors, elevator troubleshooting, and served as a mechanic in the elevator union. After obtaining his Electrical License he started Viso Electrical Contracting, where he operated
for over 20 years, employing and supervising up to 50 people at any given time.

While running his electrical company, he also obtained a new home builder license and built several homes, primarily in Bergen County. He later opened the Viso Elevator division after becoming a dealer for Inclinator elevators. Joseph takes pride in having helped put several of his employees through school and even mentored some who when on to open their own businesses.

Thankfully, Joseph is a two-time cancer survivor. His last bout with cancer left him paraplegic for a period of several months when he did not know if he would ever walk again. During his painful recovery, he finally had the time to truly pay attention to what is going on in politics.

Joseph is honored to have been nominated as a candidate in 2021 for State Assembly by the BCRO. Though he feels his 2021 campaign run along with Chris and Craig Auriemma came up
short, he is confident that with hard work results could be achieved. Joseph has worked diligently to help build the Republican Party in our district and across the state in all
communities. He has spent most of his life in the 36th Legislative District, and he cares about our district and our state. He does not want it to become the next California.

In 2022, Joseph was elected as a Republican County Committee member in Carlstadt. Billy Prempeh appointed him District Captain for his Congressional campaign. Again, with hard work
and dedication, we proved our district is winnable. Bill Pascrell won by the slightest margin in his career in 2022.

Joseph was a big part of making that happen along with the great volunteers, who support our team and the campaign we are about to embark on. Joseph believes his accomplishments and realized goals are attributed to his hard work and perseverance. While his life has not been perfect, and he admits to making some mistakes
along the way, he for sure has taken from them important lessons that have molded him into the man he is today.

Joe believes his life experiences prove that he can work with different people and get the job done, making tough decisions under pressure in an industry where people’s lives depend on the decisions he had to make daily. His relentless determination, and ability to work with people, troubleshoot, fix problems, and get the job done proves he is the right man for the job.

Joseph has spent much of his life volunteering. Whether coaching kids or fighting fires, he has served his community selflessly. His education and experience as a contractor and self-made businessman are invaluable. His track record of finishing what he starts is definitely a quality we need in a politician. He does what he says, and says what he means. Joe will be a fresh breath of air in Trenton.
